2021-07-10

World society today are facing the situation of increasing elderly people and Thailand has completely entered the aging society. There are elderly people up to 20% of the population and the proportion of elderly people is second in ASEAN after only Singapore. It was also found that Elderly people today have different behaviors from the past. “Technology use”, which has increased by 100% over the past 10 years. In addition, as a result of the behavior of delaying initiation of marriage and being single for longer, including those with divorced and widowed statuses no longer living with their families, "single households" tend to increase and may account for up to 1 in four of all households within 20 years. The most common population groups in single households were young working people who were single and the elderly. These are issues that should be understood to prepare for infrastructure-related strategies to respond today's social change.

MEA is a state enterprise responsible for providing electricity distribution services in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan areas, where electricity is a necessary basic utility especially in urban communities. From the issue of population structure change to an aging society including the concept of loss prevention from the risk of fire from deteriorating electrical equipment in the house which requires proper maintenance. We therefore prepare to make services accessible to all and in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is therefore the origin of the “MEA E-Fix” project development.
